FAQ's

PROPER CARE and STORAGE

GENERAL CARE:
Treat your jewelry like wearable art. Remove pieces before swimming, showering, sleeping, or exercising. Stones and metals can react to humidity, moisture, lotions, perfumes, and other chemicals. Do not dip pieces in cleaners; to restore shine, gently polish with a soft polishing cloth. For sealed or plated items, avoid heavy polishing, and do not stack heavy objects on top during storage.

STORING JEWELRY:
Store in a dry area away from prolonged sunlight and extreme heat. Avoid humid places like bathrooms, as moisture can speed tarnishing or may cause a white scale to form on the edges of Sorcery pieces. If a piece gets wet, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth before storing it in its box, pouch, baggie, or jewelry case... keeping it protected from the elements.

GIFT BOX / POUCH:
Each order includes a cotton-filled gift box or pouch. Store your jewelry inside these when not in use to help protect from dust, moisture, and tarnish.

RINGS & SKIN NOTES:
Rings worn daily will show faster wear, especially with hands-on lifestyles. Body chemistry may cause some metals, like raw brass or copper, to darken or leave temporary marks on the skin. This is natural, harmless, and washes away with soap and water.

This is a piece of art and deserves mindful handling.

METALS INFO

SORCERY COLLECTION METALS:
Each Sorcery Collection creation is crafted using mixed metals such as copper, brass, alloy, or silver, and finished with stainless steel findings and chain (unless otherwise noted). Sculpted by hand with lead-free soft solder, often applied directly to stone, each piece may show natural asymmetry due to its intuitive formation. Surface textures, pits, and other metal quirks are part of the raw, unearthed character of an ancient relic reborn in modern form.

An oxidizing process is often used to create a patina that enhances sculptural detail, bringing out contrast and depth. All pieces are sealed with a hypoallergenic, environmentally friendly metal sealant to help preserve the finish, though this may naturally wear off over time, especially on rings or frequently handled items.

Avoid getting Sorcery pieces wet to preserve their finish.

SORCERY COLLECTION FREE CLEANING SERVICE
This service covers the metalwork of Sorcery Collection creations only. You must contact me before shipping or dropping off your piece at my Oakland shop. Customers are responsible for shipping costs both ways. I will clean, polish, and reseal the metal surfaces (if applicable) to help preserve their finish. Please note the original patina cannot be reapplied once sealed. I also inspect jump rings, chains, and clasps to ensure proper function.

If you have other jewelry pieces you'd like me to inspect or care for, I offer this service for a small nominal fee. Please contact me for details.

STAINLESS STEEL:
Stainless Steel (I often abbreviate it as St.Steel) is the primary metal used for chains, findings, and some wire-wrapped work across most creations. All earring hooks are St.Steel unless otherwise noted. This metal is highly durable, tarnish-resistant, and generally safe for most with sensitive skin.

SILVER-FILLED AND GOLD-FILLED:
Silver-filled and gold-filled metals are layers of pure silver or gold mechanically bonded over a base metal of brass or copper. This bonded nature differs from plating and will not wear off naturally unless exposed to harsh scraping or abrasion. Silver-filled wire acts much like sterling silver and will tarnish over time when exposed to the elements.

STERLING AND FINE SILVER:
Sterling silver consists of 92.5% silver mixed primarily with copper for strength and durability. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. While not a primary material in most of my work, some items featuring these metals may appear in the collections as they are crafted.

COPPER AND BRASS ALCHEMY:
Copper and brass serve as base metals for many pieces. They are treated and sealed where applicable but may develop a patina on the metal with time and wear... especially on raw, unsealed metal or chain designs. Some pieces may also be copper electroformed, a process where over time... copper is deposited onto an organic or sculpted form using an electric current. Once complete, the piece features a copper layer that’s carefully patinated and sealed to preserve its finish.

PLATING BASICS:
Some components used may feature platings such as silver plate, gold plate, gunmetal, or alloy. These platings may come from older or newer metal stamping stock. Over time, plating can wear off depending on factors like body chemistry, oils, and environment.
Please note: These items cannot be replated, as I do not offer plating services. Some older metal stampings and components may contain trace allergens (such as nickel). Such pieces will be clearly noted as Old Metal Stock in the product description, but most of the time it is silver-plated over brass filigrees/stampings.

ARTISTIC WIRE:
Artistic wire used in designs is colored enamel-coated copper wire. Proper care is important, as the enamel coating can come off if deeply scratched or handled roughly with metal tools.

PATINA & SEALANT

SEALANT:
Some pieces, especially within the Sorcery Collection, are sealed with multiple layers of the hypoallergenic environmentally friendly sealant. This sealant helps protect metals from the elements and maintains patinas longer, offering added skin comfort.
Other items may be buffed with a layer of wax, which provides a protective layer but tends to wear off more quickly with regular use than the sealant.
Please note: Sealants of any sort, may wear off faster with heavy wear, especially on rings from the Sorcery Collection

PATINA & ANTIQUING:
Various patinas and antiquing techniques may be used to enhance metal textures and finishes. These effects can evolve over time with wear and exposure.

STONES / BONES / OTHER MATERIALS

STONES / SOFT STONES:
I work with a mix of rough, polished, faceted, or included stones... some shaped by hand, some by time, and some left raw straight from the earth.
Stones and metals may have natural quirks such as pits, cracks, surface scratches, color shifts, inclusions or a neat rainbow. I lean toward these stones because of their character.
Soft stones like opals and porous materials like bone need extra love:
• Keep them away from water, lotions, oils, and harsh chemicals.
• Avoid wearing them while showering, swimming, or washing hands.
• Water and oils can dull or permanently damage an opal’s fire, and cause porous bones to stain.
• Most opals I use are raw, unstabilized, and can craze or crack if exposed to harsh conditions.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Many stones are untreated or lightly polished and may show natural flaws or inclusions. These marks tell the story of each stone... natural scars, unique imperfections, and echoes of earth’s history.
All bones I use are ethically sourced. I also try to use recycled objects/parts when I can.

BONE COLLECTION:
These pieces use natural unsealed bone, preserving their soft, matte, and porous texture. Over time, wearing close to the skin may lead to a subtle shine or slight color shift, often caused by skin oils and other contact. Bone can discolor if exposed to moisture, oils, makeup, or sprays. Because of its porous nature, bone should be the last item you put on after applying any products, and kept away from direct contact with chemicals.

*Please note: Bones are naturally porous and can absorb moisture, oils, lotions, soaps, etc., leading to staining that cannot be cleaned. Careful handling and storage are recommended.

CLAY:
Artist-grade epoxy clay is a sculptable, durable medium used to create unique textures and forms. It can be finished to resemble natural stone or colored for other artistic effects. Some older or experimental pieces may also include polymer, paper, or foam clay. Lightweight but sturdy. Handle with care similar to resin-based creations.

SHRINK ART:
A lightweight versatile material made by heating special plastic that shrinks and thickens. Each piece is hand-painted and sealed for durability allowing for detailed designs. Handle with care. Avoid heat, prolonged sunlight exposure and stacking heavy items on top to prevent scratches, clouding or warping.

EPOXICA:
Some creations may include UV resin or other types of resin.
Resin allows for embedding all manner of objects to create unique effects... whether found items, paints, dyes, micas, stones, or reflective elements. While UV resin is generally stable, it’s best to avoid excessive sunlight exposure, keep away from heat and harsh chemicals, and avoid stacking heavy items on top to prevent pressure marks, scratches, or damage.

ORDERING

*All pieces are one-of-a-kind. Only one is available per listing (unless otherwise noted), even if a quantity selector appears. You may see an option to choose more than one, but attempting to do so will result in an error. This is a platform limitation and cannot be disabled on my end, apologies for any confusion.*

SHIPPING

US SHIPMENTS:
Orders placed through my main Gallery of Jewelry typically take 3–5 business days for processing and shipment. Once shipped, packages are sent via USPS Priority Flat Rate Mail (Small Box), which usually delivers within 2–3 business days. Delivery times depend on USPS estimates and may vary due to seasonal volume, postal delays, or unforeseen circumstances. This method provides tracking, up to $100 automatic insurance, and sturdy packaging to help ensure your one-of-a-kind piece arrives safely.

SHIPPING COSTS:
Flat rate shipping starts at $10.50 (subject to USPS changes). If you’d like extra insurance (over the $100 already covered) or prefer another shipping method, please contact me before ordering so I can adjust the cost.
You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships. Please double-check your full name, shipping address, and email when placing your order.

MULTIPLE ITEMS:
Please Note: A $1 packaging fee is added for each additional item.

CROWNS & LARGER ITEMS:
Due to their size and care needed for safe shipping, crowns and larger pieces may require additional shipping costs (larger Priority Flat Rate boxes). Unfortunately, my shop platform does not allow me to separate these automatically, so please contact me before ordering crowns or larger items for an exact shipping quote.

NOTE:
• I am not responsible for lost or stolen shipments.
• I am not responsible for shipping delays once an order has shipped.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:
At this time, I only ship within the US.
However, items from the MERCH section do ship internationally, and those shipping fees will be calculated separately.

EYESCREAM RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY

ALL SALES FINAL! I do not offer refunds on EYESCREAM jewelry or original artwork shipped directly from my studio in Oakland. In the rare case a return is approved (at my sole discretion), a restocking fee of up to 20% may apply.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
• For shipping damage, please contact USPS directly for claims, but keep me informed if this happens.
• For any other issue, you must contact me within 48 hours of receiving your item.
• Clear, bright, in-focus photos of the damage or concern are required.
• All situations are handled case-by-case, with a focus on fair and respectful resolutions.

• Please read all product descriptions and view all product images for full details of each piece prior to order. If ever a question regarding a piece’s quirks or details, please message me in advance of order placement. Thank you.

MERCH ORDERS

Items in the MERCH section (such as mugs, t-shirts, and other printed products featuring my artwork) are sold and shipped separately through a print-on-demand service called Fourthwall.
Because these items are produced and fulfilled by Fourthwall, they follow their own policies regarding returns, exchanges, shipping, and privacy.

For any questions or issues with MERCH orders, please refer directly to Fourthwall's official documentation:

Shipping Notes for MERCH Orders:

  • MERCH items ship separately from items purchased through the EYESCREAM Jewelry catalog.
  • This means that if you order both an EYESCREAM necklace and a printed item from the MERCH section, you’ll see two separate shipping charges.
  • MERCH orders are fulfilled by Fourthwall and may ship to most countries internationally (check their site for current availability).
  • EYESCREAM handmade jewelry and art ships only within the United States.
