FAQ's

PROPER CARE and STORAGE

GENERAL CARE:
Treat your jewelry like wearable art. Do Not stack heavy items on top while storing. Avoid exposing pieces to water, chemicals, lotions, perfumes, or oils. Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping.

STORING JEWELRY:
Store pieces in a dry area, away from direct sunlight. Avoid humidity (like bathrooms), which can accelerate tarnishing on metals and dull stones over time.

GIFT BOX / POUCH:
Each order includes a cotton-filled gift box or pouch. Store your jewelry inside these when not in use to help protect from dust and tarnish.

RINGS & SKIN NOTES:
Rings worn daily will show faster wear on metals and sealants, especially for hands-on lifestyles. Depending on body chemistry, some metals (like raw brass or copper) may darken or leave temporary marks on skin—this is natural and not harmful.

METALS INFO

STAINLESS STEEL:
Stainless Steel (often abbreviated as St.Steel) is the primary metal used for chains, findings, and some wire-wrapped work across most creations. All earring hooks are St.Steel unless otherwise noted. This metal is highly durable, tarnish-resistant, and generally safe for most with sensitive skin.
Please note: All Stainless Steel may contain a negligible amount of nickel (inherent in the metal process); if you have a severe nickel allergy, please keep this in mind.

SORCERY COLLECTION METALS:
These mixed metal sculptures feature a lead-free silver-bearing tin alloy sculpted over copper or brass, sometimes with added silver fill or sterling accents. Pieces are sealed with ProtectaClear but should be kept dry. This technique allows sculpting detailed textures and surface contrasts directly on stone in real time, using the Tiffany method.

SILVER FILL AND GOLD FILL:
Silver fill and gold fill metals are layers of pure silver or gold mechanically bonded over a base metal of brass or copper. This bonded nature differs from plating and will not wear off naturally unless exposed to harsh scraping or abrasion. Silver fill acts much like sterling silver and will tarnish over time when exposed to the elements.

STERLING AND FINE SILVER:
Sterling silver consists of 92.5% silver mixed primarily with copper for strength and durability. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. While not a primary material in most of my work, some items featuring these metals may appear in the collections as they are crafted.

COPPER AND BRASS ALCHEMY:
Copper and brass serve as base metals for many pieces. They are treated and sealed where applicable but may develop a patina with time and wear—especially on raw, unsealed metal or chain designs.

PLATING BASICS:
Some components used may feature platings such as silver plate, gold plate, gunmetal, or be made from zinc alloy. These platings may come from older or newer metal stamping stock. Over time, plating can wear off depending on factors like body chemistry, oils, and environment.
Please note: These items cannot be replated, as I do not offer plating services. Some older metal stampings and components may contain trace allergens (such as nickel). Such pieces will be clearly noted as Old Metal Stock in the product description.

ARTISTIC WIRE:
Artistic wire used in designs is colored enamel-coated copper wire. Proper care is important, as the enamel coating can come off if deeply scratched or handled roughly with metal tools.

PATINA & SEALANT

SEALANT:
Some pieces, especially within the Sorcery Collection, are sealed with multiple layers of the environmentally friendly ProtectaClear. This sealant helps protect metals from the elements and maintains patinas longer, offering added skin comfort.
Other items may be treated with Renaissance Wax, which provides a protective layer but tends to wear off more quickly with regular use.
Please note: Sealants, especially on rings from the Sorcery Collection, may wear off faster with heavy wear.

PATINA & ANTIQUING:
Various patinas and antiquing techniques may be used to enhance metal textures and finishes. These effects can evolve over time with wear and exposure.

STONES / BONES / OTHER MATERIALS

STONES, BONES & SOFT STONES:
I work with a mix of rough, polished, faceted, or included stones—some hand cut, some earth-found.
Most stones will have natural quirks: chips, pits, color shifts, inclusions. I lean toward these stones because of their character.
Soft stones like opals and bones need extra love:
• Keep them away from water, lotions, oils, or chemicals.
• Never wear opals while showering, swimming, or washing hands.
• Water or oils can dull or even permanently erase an opal's fire over time.
• Most opals I use are not stabilized—they're raw, organic, and can craze or crack if exposed to harsh conditions.

STONES & BONES SPECIAL NOTES:
All bones I use are ethically sourced and carry their own quiet stories.
Many stones are untreated or lightly polished and may show natural flaws or inclusions.
These marks are part of their journey—ancient scars, wild imperfections, ghosted echoes of earth and life.

OTHER MATERIALS:
Some creations may include elements like artist-grade epoxy clay, UV resin, or shrink art.
While UV resin is generally stable, it's best to avoid prolonged direct heat or excessive UV exposure to prevent potential clouding or warping over time.
Two-part resins and clay can discolor or weaken if exposed to extended direct sunlight, harsh chemicals, or abrasives.
Always store pieces carefully, avoiding stacking heavy items on top to prevent pressure marks or damage.

SHIPPING

US SHIPMENTS:
Orders ship via USPS Priority Flat Rate Mail – Small Box, which typically delivers within 3 business days (not including weekends or holidays). Shipping time frames are based on USPS estimates and may vary depending on the season, postal delays, or other circumstances.

SHIPPING COSTS:
Flat rate shipping starts at $10.50 (subject to USPS changes), which includes up to $100 automatic insurance. If you wish to add more insurance, or prefer a different shipping method, please contact me prior to your order placement so I can adjust costs based on your order.

MULTIPLE ITEMS:
Each additional item will add a $2 fee to cover excess insurance and safe packaging. I try to keep shipping reasonable considering the nature of handmade, often delicate work.

CROWNS & LARGER ITEMS:
Due to their size and care needed for safe shipping, crowns and larger pieces may require additional shipping costs (larger Priority Flat Rate boxes). Unfortunately, my shop platform does not allow me to separate these automatically, so please contact me before ordering crowns or larger items for an exact shipping quote.

NOTE:
• I am not responsible for lost or stolen shipments.
• I am not responsible for shipping delays once an order has shipped.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:
At this time, I only ship within the US.
However, items from the MERCH section do ship internationally, and those shipping fees will be calculated separately.

PAYMENT PLANS / LAYAWAY

I do offer layaway in the form of payment plans.
A minimum 1/3 deposit is required to hold the piece(s). At that point, I will pull them from inventory and set them aside until your order is paid in full.

You will outline your own payment schedule (amounts and planned dates).
It is your responsibility to stay in touch regarding any changes, late payments, or other adjustments. I am flexible—but only if you stay in communication before your payment date.

All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
If I do not hear from you for 1 month—no emails, no payments—you will forfeit your previous deposits and payments. Life happens, but I do ask for at least a quick check-in to keep your plan active.

PLEASE NOTE:
• A $1 transaction fee will be added to each payment after the initial deposit.
• Taxes will apply.
• Shipping costs will be added into your final total if the item needs to be shipped.

Once paid in full, your order will ship and you will receive a delivery confirmation number.
To set up a payment plan/layaway:
Message me with your full name, mailing address, preferred way to contact, best times to do so, and any links to the pieces you’re interested in.
If you have questions, just reach out.

Once a package is marked as delivered, it is considered out of my hands and must be followed up locally.

EYESCREAM RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY

ALL SALES FINAL! I do not offer refunds on EYESCREAM jewelry or original artwork shipped directly from my studio in Oakland. Each piece is handmade, one-of-a-kind, and treated as wearable art.

However, if your item arrives with an issue directly related to my craftsmanship (not shipping carrier damage), I will consider exchanges or store credit when appropriate.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
• For shipping damage, please contact USPS directly for claims, but keep me informed if this happens.
• For any other issue, you must contact me within 48 hours of receiving your item.
• Clear, bright, in-focus photos of the damage or concern are required.
• All situations are handled case-by-case, with a focus on fair and respectful resolutions.
• Please read all product descriptions and view all product images for full details of each piece prior to order. If ever a question regarding a piece’s quirks or details, please message me in advance of order placement. Thank you.

MERCH ORDERS

Items in the MERCH section (such as mugs, t-shirts, and other printed products featuring my artwork) are sold and shipped separately through a print-on-demand service called Fourthwall.
Because these items are produced and fulfilled by Fourthwall, they follow their own policies regarding returns, exchanges, shipping, and privacy.

For any questions or issues with MERCH orders, please refer directly to Fourthwall's official documentation:

Shipping Notes for MERCH Orders:

  • MERCH items ship separately from items purchased through the EYESCREAM Jewelry catalog.
  • This means that if you order both an EYESCREAM necklace and a printed item from the MERCH section, you’ll see two separate shipping charges.
  • MERCH orders are fulfilled by Fourthwall and may ship to most countries internationally (check their site for current availability).
  • EYESCREAM handmade jewelry and art ships only within the United States.
